Throughout recent years, JJJJound has operated as a leading tastemaker in streetwear — earning this title through both its minimalist designs and collaborations. The embodiment of “less is more,” its growing prominence has positioned the brand opposite of the social media-focused, maximalist movement. However, with each new presentation from JJJJound, it faces criticism for lacking effort, not that the brand has ever claimed to be a leader in innovation.
Its latest collaborations has the Montreal-based imprint teaming up with Vans once again, last touching on the Sk8-Mid in three colorways. Now, it returns to the mid-top silhouette, as revealed last week, while also taking on the iconic Slip-On. In the one image teaser, an unassuming pair of Slip-Ons have been prepared in an off-white on white look that is emblematic of JJJJound’s design philosophy. For the comedians at home, act fast as the “damn Daniel” jokes are already growing stale at lightspeed.
Paired with the teaser, displayed below, a simple “JJJJ SS23” caption points to this pair, and its Sk8-Mid counterpart, landing on shelves very soon. Stay tuned for a complete breakdown of the shoe alongside specific release details in the coming weeks.
