We all remember our first Glasto (well, those who’ve been lucky enough to go), but we probably didn’t lead a mass workout session – enter Joe Wicks.

The fitness coach, 37, who famously started his PE With Joe series in March 2020 after the UK went into Covid lockdown, led the energetic crowd at Worthy Farm.

It was confirmed on Friday that Arctic Monkeys will be performing their headline Glasto slot after all following concerns over Alex Turner’s laryngitis diagnosis.

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Sir Elton John will mark his first headline gig at the famous festival by inviting four famous friends onto the stage with him.

While it’s unlikely that Joe will be joining Sir Elton on stage on Sunday June 25, the health guru directed a crowd of hundreds through an intense fitness routine.

‘This is amazing. I’m so happy to be here. I love it!’ Joe shouted to the members of his gym class, all while providing steps to help them limber up.

The festival, which sells out every year, is famous not just for its live music and cultural nourishment but for being a serious endurance test of those who visit.

To prepare the thousands of festival-goers for the long walks from their tents to the various stages, he told them to ‘reach for the sky’ and ‘touch [their] toes’.

‘We’re gonna be energised at the end of this, I promise you that,’ he said during the session, which also saw members of the local police force taking part.

Posting on Twitter afterwards, Joe said: ‘The worlds first ever HIIT workout at Glasto. So much fun. Over 2000 people joined me for it this morning.’

In the tweet, which was shared to his 428,000 followers, he thanked those taking part and wished them a great weekend, signing off with a suitable dancing emoji.

Another famous face from TV attending the festival this weekend is none other than Holly Willoughby, who was helicoptered in on Friday afternoon.
