Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw production company has teamed up with Meta to transform a few of his hit films into VR. The new VR experience, entitled Monkeypaw Productions: All Aboard, offers Quest 2 headset owners the opportunity to immerse themselves in the films Get Out, Us and the forthcoming Nope.
Users can enter Meta’s Horizon Worlds to explore different themed cabins centered on the films. Alongside the main VR experience, there’s also Nope World: by Monkeypaw Productions.
Out on July 22, Nope stars Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun. Set in a California ranch, the group bears witness to uncanny and possibly extraterrestrial occurrences, including a massive flying object. Thankfully Nope World doesn’t include any spoilers, but users can recognize different symbols from the film’s trailer, such as the Haywood Ranch setting and an inflatable tube man.
The experience was brought to life by Horizon Worlds creators Ashley Briley, Samantha Nunoo, Matt Torres and Kevin Dixon, who collaborated with Meta’s lead producer for creative shop, Annie Porter. Moneypaw’s VP of culture and impact Keisha Senter and culture and impact manager Sophia Williams worked alongside creators on the project.
Monkeypaw Productions: All Aboard and Nope World: by Monkeypaw Productions took about two months to come together. The VR worlds are currently open for exploration in Horizon Worlds.
