Kate Beckinsale confirms devastating news: 'My heart is broken'

Kate Beckinsale has confirmed that her beloved cat Clive has died.

Sharing the news on Monday, the 49-year-old star – who frequently posted photos and videos of the adorable feline on social media – said her heart was ‘totally broken’ and added: ‘You may not hear from me for a bit.’

Kate also uploaded a photo of herself cuddling Clive.

She wrote in full: ‘Clive has died. I don’t have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet.

‘Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it. If anyone is expecting to hear from me, you may not for a bit and I’m sorry. My heart is absolutely and totally broken.’

May of the actress’ famous friends were quick to share their condolences, with Anya Taylor-Joy writing: ‘Kate sending you love.’

Charli Howard wrote: ‘So sorry Kate. thinking of you.’

Seth Rogan, who recently lost his own beloved pet dog, added: ‘I’m so sorry.’

Taking to Instagram last month, Seth, 41, announced his family dog Zelda had died aged 13, referring to her as his family’s ‘perfect girl’.

In addition to the loving statement, Seth’s post also contained a carousel of pictures of Zelda with his wife, actress Lauren Miller Rogen, 41.

The couple both took authorship of the tear-jerking statement, which explained in detail the beautiful relationship they’d built with Zelda over the years.
