Kim Kardashian broke the internet for what feels like the hundredth time yesterday after launching her new shapewear collection, Skims.
In fact, she actually had to push the drop back by an hour because of the amount of people flooding the website in anticipation of the launch, and she reportedly shifted $2 million worth of product within the first few minutes of it becoming available.
The collection aims to offer solution-wear for all women, because let’s face it — Kim Kardashian knows what it takes to look perfect at all times.
This is the woman who does, after all, work out seven days a week and only breaks her exercise regime once every six months. She has also in the past revealed that she’ll only go to the beach at certain times of the day when the sunlight won’t highlight her cellulite.
But now that’s she’s a mother to four children, it seems Kim’s thinking about the lessons of body confidence she’ll impart to her daughters, North, six, and Chicago, one.
Speaking to Elle, Kim revealed that while she thinks her daughters are still too young to have conversations about body positivity right now, she tries to show them her own self-confidence at home.
She said: “I think my kids are a little too young to really understand what cellulite is and have those conversations, but they also see that we’re in front of the camera, and I like to feel good about myself. But there’s a time and a place — it’s not like I sit at home with body makeup all over me. But I do feel really confident.”
She went on to say that North is “the most confident person on the planet”, but added that she’ll still be teaching her the importance of feeling good about yourself.
Kim said: “When I’m changing, [North] will be in my closet with me. She’s the most confident person on the planet, so I don’t think I’ll really have a problem there, but I always teach body confidence and always wanting to feel your best.”
And Kim also explained that she places emphasis on “being active” and eating healthily at home too.
She explained: “I think my kids see me get up and go to the gym every day and work out … and I love that my kids see me ski and water ski and be really active.”
“We really openly talk about what we put in our bodies and the foods that we eat, and not eating too much sugar,” she added, “Eating really clean and teaching my kids [that] has been really important to me. And when we’re at the house, we eat plant-based.”
