Linda Nolan’s sisters ‘preparing for the worst' amid incurable cancer battle

Linda Nolan’s sisters appear to have been rallying around her amid her treatment for incurable cancer.

The star – who recently celebrated her 64th birthday – was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006.

She was later diagnosed with incurable secondary breast cancer which spread to her hip in 2017.

In 2020, the singer revealed her cancer had spread to her liver and shared that more tumours had been found, confessing to being ‘scared to death of dying’.

This marked the third time the illness returned following her initial diagnosis and a secondary cancer on her pelvis in 2017.

It’s been a tough time for the Nolan family to say the least, especially as the youngest member of the hit 1980s band The Nolans, Bernie, died from cancer in 2013.

On Friday (March 24), Linda was spotted leaving a Lancashire hospital with her older sister Maureen, who pushed her in a wheelchair.

After Linda appeared unsteady on her feet, a source close to the family told The Mirror that she has ‘been prone to falls’.

However, it’s said to be a side effect of the chemotherapy treatment she’s receiving at present, with Linda herself previously sharing she had to deny being drunk in the supermarket as chemo left her unbalanced.

But, her loved ones are still thought to, understandably, be ‘extremely worried’ about her.

‘She had a series of falls a couple of weeks ago, just after her birthday,’ a close source said.

‘The family are extremely worried now and are rallying round to support and care for her.

‘Linda doesn’t feel safe in her home alone now.’

In a devastating admission, they added: ‘Everyone’s hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.’

Linda rose to fame with her family pop group, performing alongside sisters Anne, 71, Denise, 69, Maureen, 68, and Coleen, 57.

Last sister Bernie was 52 at the time of her tragic death from breast cancer.

Anne was also previously diagnosed with breast cancer, but is now in remission.

Amid her own treatment, Linda has continued to be open with her fans, previously saying she is willing to ‘do anything to stay alive’.

Speaking in an interview last year, Linda said she was a ‘complete mess’ following her most recent diagnosis.

‘I started the chemo again in September but the doctor said it hadn’t done what they hoped it would do,’ she told The Sun.

‘The tumours on my liver were enlarged and were growing, so they had to put me back on chemo again.

‘It was a shock. But I’ll do anything to stay alive.

‘We agreed on a 12-week course, once a week every Friday.’
