As excitement for Grand Theft Auto 6 continues to pump through the gaming world, Netflix is looking to get in on the action with the forthcoming release of its own take on the game, dubbed Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition — and the streamer has just dropped off its official trailer.
Launching on December 14, the title will include mobile-optimized versions of Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The release marks a sizable move into the sector for Netflix, which previously stated that it had plans to become a larger hub for gaming.
Netflix’s San Andreas will challenge players to “take control of the streets” in a “90s West Coast adventure,” like the original on-console title. Similarly, GTA 3 will offer users the “freedom to go anywhere and jack anyone,” and Vice City will plant players in a “neon-soaked tropical town brimming with excess and possibility.”
Today, the older GTA titles are not entirely unplayable, but the Netflix port will make it exponentially easier for players across the world to replay the games of try them out for the first time.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be launch via the App Store, Google Play and in the Netflix mobile for subscribers. Watch the official trailer above.
