If you’ve been paying attention to sneaker culture in the past few years then it’s no secret that New Balance made enormous waves in the space by honing on in the collaborations world and dropping timeless silhouettes in versatile palettes. One of the silhouettes that has been a key player as of late is the New Balance 550, and it has now just emerged with a classic “Triple Black” color scheme.
From a fabrics standpoint, this particular offering stays true to the original components for its base layer, and it’s completely covered in black. Upper layers are predominantly manufactured with leather that is smoothened out for a majority of the real estate and comes perforated for the mudguards. Tongues are crafted with a soft mesh material and they come locked down by a set of stark black laces. Branding arrives in the form of New Balance hits on the heels and tongues as well as “550” embellishments on the forefoot, all of which are coated with a charcoal gray outer. Moving southbound, the midsoles are also designed with a dark gray exterior and come pieced together with black soles.
