With the celebrations of Lunar New Year quickly encroaching, various sportswear brands are gearing up for the annual events by revealing festive footwear colorways. Next in line to get in on the action is New Balance who has just unveiled a special XC-72 “CNY” iteration that is fittingly decorated with tiger stripes.
Being that the Chinese zodiac sign for 2022 is the Year of the Tiger, the Boston imprint has added red and black tiger camo stripes down the middle of the toe boxes and across the heels. Grayscale hues are most dominant on the lateral walls as the base and shaggy suede overlays on the toe boxes and heels are sprayed with solid black. Oversized N logos stand out with a lighter gray tone and the ribbed heel mold is decorated with a mustard yellow exterior. Elsewhere on the sports car-inspired model, you can find the medial sides designed with a canvas build that’s styled in beige and paired with a stealthy N insignia.
If you’re interested in scooping up a pair, you can find New Balance releasing these come January 28 for $130 USD.
In case you missed it, New Balance has just dropped a new 1500 rendition that glows in the dark.
