Perrie Edwards opened up about naming her son and shared with her social media followers the meaning behind his moniker.
The Little Mix star, 30, welcomed her baby boy with her footballer fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 29, in August 2021.
She has since spoken about how the famous couple decided what to call him and revealed his full name on Instagram.
During a Q&A session via her Stories on Wednesday, the star chatted candidly about her life and answered some person questions, albeit virtually.
In amongst the requests, one comment box left: ‘How did you decide on the name Axel for your baby?’
Perrie typed out a reply and let the fan know: ‘His name is Axel Xander, like his Dadda Alexander,’ followed by a cut faced emoji.
The star has opened up in the past about becoming a new mum and navigating the challenges that come with that.
She shared that she was no stranger to seeking out advice from online forums as they helped her feel less isolated in her coming to terms with parenting.
Perrie told MailOnline: ‘I love Mumsnet! Oh my god, I love it. It’s so good. Every time I get worried about something I’ll just type it into Mumsnet and find what all the different mums are saying about whatever it is.
I am OBSESSED with this absolute BANGER! #songofthesummer @Leigh-Anne ☀️
‘It’s helped me not to feel alone because it’s like you’ve got loads of women there who are in the same boat and they all just get it. It’s so nice. I love it.’
Aside from asking mums on the internet for help, the singer can also confide in fellow bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock who gave birth to twins just days before Perrie went into labour.
Despite going their separate ways in 2017, the girlband – that also included Jade Thirlwall and formerly Jesy Nelson – remained closer than ever as they supported Leigh-Anne’s venture into solo music.
Taking to TikTok, Perrie posted a video of herself dancing to the singer’s new release Don’t Say Love and penned a caption that read: ‘I am OBSESSED with this absolute banger!,’ to which Leigh-Anne fondly replied: ‘MY QUEEN’.
