Peter Kay 'banned' from Brit Awards after bitter feud with music icon

Peter Kay reckons he’s ‘banned’ from the Brit Awards following a feud with a music icon.

The comedian, 50, has revealed he’s had beef with Oasis star Liam Gallagher, 51, since the Wonderwall hitmaker’s controversial antics at the 2010 awards.

Frontman Liam was branded a ‘k***head’ by Peter after he chucked his microphone – and trophy – into the crowd after scooping the best album prize.

Liam did so after taking to the stage and thanking his former bandmates for their work on What’s The Story, Morning Glory, which became a hit record worldwide.

However, he failed to mention his brother, Noel, throwing his mic at the audience before walking off.

As a result of his later comments, Peter reckons he’s prohibited from ever hosting the glitzy music bash, next set to be held in March 2024.

Writing in his new autobiography, Big Adventures On The Small Screen, as per The Mirror, he recalls: ‘Liam Gallagher won an award. He swaggered on stage to collect it, then threw it into the audience and walked off.

‘He could have hit somebody in the face with it. What a k***head, I thought. So I said just that when I walked back to the mic ‘What a k***head”.’

The funny man added: ‘I wasn’t trying to be controversial, or stir trouble, I just said what was on my mind.

‘That might be the reason why I’ve never been invited back to present the Brits again.’

But if you thought that was the end of their feud, oh no.

Of course, Liam hit back at Peter on social media, blasting him on social media.

‘Listen up fat f**k. As a real northerner I was brought up 2 say s**t 2 people’s faces not behind their back. Live forever LG’, he tweeted.

No one to bite his tongue, fellow northerner Peter had some words of retaliation.

He penned on his website the day after: ‘So it was the Brits last night and I was honoured to be asked to host the show especially with it being 30 years old.

‘Congratulations to all the winners, including Noel Gallagher who sadly didn’t get a mention (and who thankfully isn’t a k***head).’

Ouch.

Elsewhere in his tell-all book, Peter recounts a very creepy encounter with none other than Jimmy Savile.

He labelled the disgraced entertainer – known now as one of Britain’s most prolific sex offenders – a ‘dirty old perv’.

The beloved comic relived the moment he invited Savile onto the last episode of his Peter Kay’s World Of Entertainment segment on the BBC’s Sunday Show.

His interaction with Peter didn’t go to plan, as the comedian found him ‘very eccentric’.

He said he ‘talked utter nonsense, spouting weird quotes, crap jokes, limericks’.

Writing in his book, Peter said ‘the only hint’ he got of Savile being ‘immoral in any way’ was when he met his show’s executive producer Bridget Boseley.

‘I remember she offered him her hand, which Jimmy took, then he flipped it round to kiss the back of it.

‘But before his lips touched her skin I saw a quick flick of his tongue licking the back of her hand. Urgh! What was all that about? Bridget and I chatted about it later.

‘She said, “He licked the back of my hand.” “I know, I saw him, the dirty old perv”.’
