It is possible to get Resident Evil 4 for less than £50, but only digitally and not on PlayStation.
We are now only one day away from the launch of the Resident Evil 4 remake and whether you’re a fan of the original or a newcomer to Capcom’s horror franchise, it’s a release well worth getting excited for.
However, much like with Nintendo and Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, a costly price tag can be off-putting for some, and Resident Evil 4 is going for £55 on both PlayStation and Xbox.
If you’re willing and able, getting the game on PC is your best bet, given that not only is the Steam version £49.99, but at least one retailer is giving away the deluxe edition for even less.
Aside from the caveat of it not being a physical copy (though if you’re a PC player, then that was never going to be an issue), ShopTo is selling codes for Resident Evil 4’s Deluxe Edition at £43.85.
That’s a 24% discount from its original asking price of £57.99 and is the cheapest pre-order for the game we could find.
It being the Deluxe Edition is an added bonus as it includes a bunch of extra content, like alternate costumes for Leon and Ashley and an option to use the soundtrack from the original game.
It’s also cheaper than what ShopTo is offering the base game on consoles for, which is £56.85 in case you’re curious.
You can pre-order the PC version here, with codes to be shipped on the day of release.
As for the console versions, ShopTo does have digital codes for the Xbox Series X/S version going for £47.85, though we struggled to find anything similar for the PlayStation versions.
The cheapest PlayStation 5 price we could spot is £51.99 at Custom Controllers.
Resident Evil 4 launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on March 24.
