David Walliams was seen out for the first time since he started legal proceedings against the Britain’s Got Talent production company.
The Little Britain star, 52, is suing FremantleMedia for ‘significant damages’ after he was axed from the programme when an expletive rant he made about a contestant was leaked.
Walliams, who is taking legal action over a data protection breach over the leaked transcript, according to court documents, went out for a dog walk with his beloved two border terriers Bert and Ernie on Friday (September 29) morning.
The children’s book author also took his pet pooches to a cafe where he was seen having hot drinks and catching up with a friend at an outdoor table.
Walliams kept his look casual and wore a grey jumper and navy joggers paired with tinted shades and white trainers.
It has been claimed Fremantle is set to go to war with Walliams after he lodged the case with London’s High Court last Thursday.
A source alleged that Walliams was aware his words could have been made public as in 2018 bosses announced a format change that permitted the broadcasting of all off-air comments made by the judges.
The insider continued to MailOnline: ‘It was a change to the show which was widely publicised to viewers, the press and the judges.
‘There is very little doubt amongst many working on the show that it was one of the freelance workers who leaked the transcript, perhaps someone who didn’t like David very much.’
The comedian was dropped from BGT last year and replaced by Bruno Tonioli over the leaked recordings which exposed scathing remarks about contestants.
He apologised for his offensive comments, stating: ‘I would like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain’s Got Talent in 2020.
‘These were private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry.’
Simon Cowell who serves as a producer on the show as well as sitting on the panel, also later addressed Walliams’ comments, branding the vile remarks ‘unacceptable and upsetting’.
The media mogul previously told The Sun: ‘I didn’t really get involved in the decision. From what I understand, he decided to take a step back.
‘It all happened relatively quickly. I was on holiday and then the next thing is I’m having conversations about who’s going to take his place.’
Metro.co.uk has previously approached reps for Walliams and Fremantle for comment.
Britain’s Got Talent is available to watch on ITVX.
