British brand Spinnaker has dropped a seriously specced dive watch marking the record-breaking dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in 1960.
The Piccard is named after explorer Jacques Piccard, who along with US Navy Lieutenant Don Walsh travelled to the deepest part in the ocean in the Bathyscaphe Trieste in 1960.
The watch that travelled with them, strapped to the exterior of the Bathyscaphe’s hull was an experimental Rolex Deep Sea Special and the 45mm Spinnaker takes its design cues from that watch with its heavily domed crystal and thick 21mm caseband.

The oversized 316L marine-grade stainless steel case boasts an impressive 550m of water resistance, a Helium release valve, engraved caseback and a ceramic bezel insert.
The Spinnaker’s baton-shaped applied indices are infilled with Super-LumiNova with a lollipop seconds hand gliding around the glide, powered by a Seiko-built TMI automatic NH35 movement.
The Piccard is available in black, blue and green color options via Spinnaker, priced £430 GBP (approximately $580 USD).
