Initially debuted around the same time last year, photos of the exclusive Air Jordan 5 “NFL Helmet” PE have surfaced on the net. Michael Jordan’s namesake brand has been known to release player exclusive variations of its classics which recently includes Oregon Duck’s Air Jordan 8 PE sporting the emblematic U of O-related colors and the special edition Air Jordan 6 “Fraternity” PE which was gifted to all its athletes across the NBA, WNBA, MLB and NFL.
Instagram page, English Sole, grace us with images of the “NFL Helmet,” which as its name suggests, resembles that of a football helmet with only 19 pairs made. The uppers and overlays are shaped in pristine white patent leather recalling that of the Air Jordan 11 Retro to give it a helmet-like shine. Further extending the polished look are the perforated quarters and tongue which are embellished with an iridescent foil similar to the sheen of a rainbow stag beetle while outlining the Jumpman logo atop. Usually found by the lateral heel, the number “23” lines up next to a strip of black and red with the American flag and caution message similar to ones found on the interiors of helmets. A white midsole featuring a black speckled mold is sandwiched over the signature translucent outsole to complete the look.
