Moncler Grenoble revealed its new winter collection last month in a climatic campaign featuring freeskier Richard Permin. Building excitement for the imminent ski season, the visuals show off the elevated technical garments made specifically for slope thrill seekers.
In an exclusive unboxing, Hypebeast unpacks the head-to-toe outfit worn by Permin in the campaign, exploring the innovative technical construction, hidden details and the sleek style elements that make up each piece.
The highlight of the collection is the brand’s new Lapaz jacket. Constructed with lightweight layers of GORE-TEX and PrimaLoft® Gold insulation, the streamlined garment is engineered to be resistant to the elements while boasting breathability for the wearer. The jacket is effortlessly paired with Moncler Grenoble’s nylon stretch ski trousers. Providing an essential base layer to suspended ski bibs, the trousers feature a protective combination of heat-sealed seams, strap closures and RECCO reflectors.
As well as the outer layers, a selection of redesigned ski accessories land in the unboxing. Built with a supportive EPP linear section and RECCO avalanche detector, the polished ABS shell helmet – made in collaboration with POC – comes in equal parts style and technicality. The innovation continues with the durable gloves, made from two layers of four-way nylon stretch and Nappa leather panels. Stamped with the brand’s logo in black and white, a set of anti-fog Terrabeam goggles round off the minimal-yet-premium ski look.
