After joining forces on a limited-edition “Artic Fox” U1 GMT, Unimatic is reuniting with Revolution for a new timepiece collaboration. This time, the duo unveils the U1 MILSUB “BLUE,” a tri-tonal Modello Uno reference dressed in an ocean-inspired color palette.
As highlighted in the official press release, Unimatic co-founders Giovanni Moro and Simone Nunziato were determined to create a blue watch that reminds them of the oceans, while also paying tribute to some of their favorite artists whose works often center around the hue. From Van Gogh’s Starry Night to Picasso’s Blue Period, “blue has been one of the most powerfully symbolic colors in the contemporary art that Giovanni and I both love,” said Nunziato.
Featuring a distressed and stonewashed cerulean blue Cerakote coating, the 40mm stainless steel case and bezel harmoniously frame a ‘50s-inspired navy dial, complete with a screwed-down crown and protective guard. The dark-colored dial is accentuated with geometric indexes and hands, which are lume-filled to ensure readability in dark conditions.
Turning over the other side of the watch, its screw-down caseback is engraved with co-branding, alongside a unique batch number. Geared with 30 ATM water resistance, the timepiece runs on an automatic-winding Sellita SW200-1 b movement, which provides up to 41 hours of power reserve.
On August 31 at 10 a.m. EST, the U1 MILSUB “BLUE” will be available via Revolution’s official website for €1,100 EUR (approximately $1,196 USD) in a limited run of 200 units.
