A new trailer for Ridley Scott‘s Napoleon biopic is here.
Starring Joaquin Phoenix as the French ruler, the epic historical drama follows the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte from military leader to Emperor through the lens of his “addictive and volatile relationship” with his wife, Empress Joséphine. The new trailer opens with a tribute to the military commander’s strategic mind, seemingly reenacting The Battle of Austerlitz where he ordered 25 of his cannons to bomb the ice on Lake Satschen and send thousands of Russian soldiers plunging into the freezing water. It also teases his marriage with Empress Joséphine, his reign over France and his determination to remain as a ruler regardless of the bloodshed.
Joining Phoenix in the cast are Vanessa Kirby as Empress Joséphine, Tahar Rahim as Paul Barras, Ben Miles as Armand-Augustin-Louis de Caulaincourt and Matthew Needham as Lucien Bonaparte to name a few.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Netflix debuted new images of the Fire Nation from its upcoming live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
