What Project Could the 'Friends' Cast Be Working on Together?

It’s a new trend. Two weeks ago, Ellen DeGeneres kissed Howard Stern on her show, and on Monday, DeGeneres gave guest Jennifer Aniston a smooch (on the lips), because why not? The pair began chatting about Stern, and the conversation quickly ambled over to that kiss.

“When was the last time you kissed a guy?” Aniston asked.

“Why is everyone so shocked? I kiss guys on the lips,” DeGeneres said. “When’s the last time you kissed a girl on the lips?”

“I don’t kiss girls on the lips,” Aniston said.

“No?” DeGeneres said. And without further ado, DeGeneres leaned in, Aniston leaned back, and the pair shared a (chaste) kiss on the lips. The audience, predictably, went wild.

“You have such soft lips!” Aniston said.

“So do you,” DeGeneres replied. “That’s why I do what I do.”

But DeGeneres wasn’t going to just leave it there. Lots of excitement is swirling around Aniston right now — her Apple TV+ show The Morning Show launches Nov. 1, she just joined Instagram, and quite a few whispers have been swirling around a potential Friends reboot.

DeGeneres addressed the rumors point-blank. “Is there going to be a Friends reunion?” she asked.

“Like, a reboot of the show?” Aniston asked. “No.”

When DeGeneres asked her to elaborate, Aniston said, “Listen. We would love for there to be something. But we don’t know what that something is. So, we’re just trying. We’re working on something.”

DeGeneres pushed to ascertain the shape this Friends reunion might take, and asked if it could be a movie. “A huge, huge, huge, movie,” Aniston said. “No, we don’t know. … I don’t want to lead people on.”

We’re officially led on, Jen. And we can’t wait!
