Leading up to the release of Ye‘s upcoming collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign, the artist teased a new track that has received a lot of attention from fans. In a promo preview of a song from the album Vultures, the snippet show Ye walking towards a balcony overlooking Miami in a track that seems to sample Backstreet Boys‘ 1997 hit “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” song in the background.
In a statement to TMZ, the group claimed that Ye did not reach out to any of the members or the team for permission to use the song. Prior to this, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign had already included the track “Everybody” which uses the sample, int its tracklist. The album is rumored to drop later this week and since no permission has been granted, it poses as a challenge for the rapper duo.
At the Miami rave-like event that saw Ye host a listening party and bringing along Lil Durk, Offset, Freddie Gibbs, Kodak Black, Chris Brown and his daughter, North West to the stage, the song “Everybody” was also previewed to the crowd. Ye’s team has not yet commented to whether or not this will now change the tracklist and release date.
