Earlier this week, Zenith officially opened its first store in Cyprus, which also marked its first boutique location in Southern Europe. In commemorating this milestone, the Maison also presented the Defy Skyline Sapphire, a new boutique-exclusive timepiece.
From the 41mm sharp-edged case, sunburst-patterned dial, and 9 o’clock subdial to the integrated bracelet, the newly iterated timekeeper remains faithful to the classic Defy Skyline in Night Blue. Setting this reference apart from its regular counterpart is its bezel, which is set with 45 baguette-cut blue sapphires. Like all Defy Skyline, it runs on Zenith’s prized El Primero 3620 caliber, which can be clearly observed via its exhibition caseback.
Zenith’s CEO, Julien Tornare exclaimed his excitement for Zenith’s growing global presence in an official press release. On the topic of the new reference, he explained that “Blue has a deep meaning for Zenith, and we wanted to do something special and a little unexpected for this Boutique Edition of the DEFY Skyline. The majestic blue tones from the sapphire.”
The Defy Skyline Sapphire Boutique Edition retails for $27,100 USD and is currently available via Zenith’s website as well as its physical boutiques around the world.
In other watch news, Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin’s latest Time-Eater collaboration is already sold out.
