Albie and Chris Manzo are taking their talents from the Brownstone to the Jersey Shore.
The former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” stars are partnering with the Berkeley Oceanfront hotel in Asbury Park, NJ, to transform the venue’s catering space, poolside bar and lounge, an outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean and eventually a restaurant that will feature indoor and outdoor dining, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
They have already completed a new dining venue for the hotel that consists of a “grab-and-go” market.
Albie and Chris’ newest venture will separate them from their family-owned catering hall, the Brownstone, which recently made headlines after their uncle Tommy Manzo was arrested for allegedly hiring a Mafioso to attack their aunt Dina Manzo’s current husband. Tommy is accused of giving Mafia soldier John Perna a discounted wedding at the Paterson venue in exchange for the 2015 attack on Dave Cantin.
Tommy pleaded not guilty to the charges, and it is unclear if he has returned to working at the Brownstone alongside Chris and Albie’s father, Al Manzo.
We’re told that Chris, 31, and Albie, 34, have been spotted at the Asbury Park hotel “rolling up their sleeves, quite literally” while working on the project.
“We’re honored to be a part of revitalizing one of the Jersey Shore’s longest-standing and iconic hotels,” Albie told us. “We’ve been given creative license to transform The Berkeley’s venues into something truly unique, combining our love for hospitality and our years at the Brownstone. We’re excited to share our vision with travelers headed to the Shore this summer and beyond.”
Opening dates for their new venues will be announced pending state guidelines due to the coronavirus pandemic.
