Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddi Mellencamp was prepared for the spectacle that went down at her fitness retreat.
Teddi invited her “RHOBH” costars to join her at the retreat via text message and insisted there was no pressure to attend, but the women interpreted her message differently. After a confrontation at a dinner party, Kyle, Dorit, Erika Girardi, Denise Richards and Sutton Stracke decided to still attend and support their pal — yet their methods of support may have differed from what Teddi had in mind.
“They didn’t believe me when I said it but, like, I had zero expectations when it came to them coming,” she laughed. “Which is why it didn’t affect me in the way that they all kind of, I don’t know, assumed it would.”
A heated argument between Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley took center stage on Wednesday night’s episode, after Kyle, 51, attacked Dorit, 43, for showing up hours late to Teddi’s “All In” getaway — her first retreat that was open to the public. But Teddi told Page Six she had bigger things to think about than some drama.
“… It was such an important thing for my company and my clients and coaches that I was like, ‘If anyone comes and messes this up, I am going to be furious. It’s not going to be happy,’” the 38-year-old accountability coach said. “Which is why I made a commitment to myself and to all of them that I was not going to let whatever drama was following affect me or the retreat and it didn’t.”
Upon watching the episode, she told us: “I thought, ‘Wow, the retreat looked beautiful’ and it was! I was like, ‘What an amazing thing that we did.’ Watching them in the room, eating French fries and fighting was really funny to me, like while we’re all sitting there, like enjoying the sunset, doing a stretch. It was pretty brilliant.”
Teddi added that she wished fans could have seen more of the retreat on the show, as she and the 56 clients who stayed overnight partook in workout classes, a grocery shopping seminar, a mindful meditation and a picturesque hike.
The mom of three was in the process of putting together a second public retreat to take place this June in Beverly Hills, but her plans were halted by the coronavirus pandemic.
“I hadn’t even announced it fully that we were having it and we were already sold out … And then, you know, this all happened and we needed to postpone it because we want everybody to be safe,” she said.
The second retreat sounds like it’ll be more up her co-stars’ alleys.
“It was going be ‘Live Like Teddi’ and we were gonna go to all my favorite workout classes,” she explained. “We were going to go to my favorite restaurants and we were gonna go to my favorite stores. It was really just gonna be all about, like, tailoring the experience of how I live my life.”
“We went into every detail. Where I get my facials, all of those types of things. So that was all set and of course, we were gonna also work on being together and spending that time and getting to know one another. But that, you know, that was the general idea of the retreat.”
While fans will have to wait to join Teddi at a retreat, she is currently offering free live workouts on the Go All In by Teddi Instagram page.
