Cleaning-obsessed mum unveils ‘genius’ hack for storing plastic bags neatly

It’s a well-known thing that in most British kitchens there can be found a plastic shopping bag stuffed with… many other plastic shopping bags.

If you’ve lived in the house long enough some of those at the bottom may even be decaying into a fine shred of plastic confetti.

Many companies have tried to help us to organise the mess, with drawstring bottomed storage bags and wall mounts, but inevitably we return to messier solutions.

One mum, a cleaning Influencer, has revealed her ingenious hack for storing the plastic blighters.

Mrs D’s Cleaning Reviews , from Chorley, said that the best way to store them is to “keep them organised by folding them neatly into a triangle.”

She then showed her fans, all 31,500 of them, how she stores them in a basket to keep her cupboards clutter free.

She said: “It just looks so much neater tucked away in a basket just like this.”

To follow the hack you need to flatten the bag and remove all of the air, then fold the left and right sides into the middle in thirds before folding the base up too.

Then you make a triangle by folding it from corner to corner and then once more, keeping it as a triangle, in half.

Mrs D said: “With the handles you can secure it. All you’re going to do is fold those handle over the top of the triangle so you end up with a little triangle bag. "

She adds: “That’s neat as can be.”

Another said: ““That is genius! Good for the back of the car and handbag too!”
