We were all so focused on the Royal Box over the Platinum Jubilee weekend that we nearly forgot to look away from Kate Middleton, Pippa Middleton and Meghan Markle and into the crowd instead. There, amongst the other revellers, was Kate Moss, who arrived on a 90s-themes bus alongside the likes of Charlotte Tilbury and Naomi Campbell.
The supermodel looked perfectly casual in a red, white and blue 90s-era blazer, but it was her “cool girl” hairstyle that caught our attention. Part undone waves, part beachy texture, her style is perfect for the upcoming 2022 festival season – and it’s incredibly easy to recreate as well, according to her hairstylist Sam McKnight.
Sam created this exact look on Kate using a product from his own styling range: Hair by Sam McKnight Modern Hairspray Multi-Task Styling Mist, £22 here. This multi-tasker gives hair body, texture and definition – things Kate is a known fan of.
As for the waves? “I always start by blow drying Kate’s hair upside down – it gives the perfect amount of volume,” Sam said in an interview with Vogue. “While it was still warm we twisted it up into a topknot on top of her head and left it while she got her make-up done.”
Love Kate’s look? We’ve been inspired by her festival-ready glam, so we’re taking a look at the best-on-the-market volumising and texturising hair sprays that can help you achieve her loose waves from just £6.
