Holby City have released a special video on Twitter ahead of their final ever episode. Former cast members and guest stars including Olivia Colman, Maureen Lipman, Sharon D. Clarke and John Michie share their thoughts on their time working on the show and their reaction to the show ending after 23 years.
Sharon D. Clarke (Lola Griffin) jokes that she ‘can now confidently perform the procedure to relieve a tension pneumothorax,’ and adds ‘A fond farewell to all those who’ve walked the wards and corridors of Holby City.’
The memories will come flooding back for fans as stars from all eras of the show, from the very first episode to the most recent, all celebrate what Holby has meant to them and mourn the loss of a show that has been such a huge part of their lives.
‘It’s terribly sad, but be proud,’ says Gillian Bevan, who played Elliot Hope’s wife Gina in what some fans would argue was one of Holby’s greatest ever storylines when Gina faced terminal illness.
Tina Hobley, who played iconic character Chrissie Williams, has the final word. ‘We put a good shift in,’ she says, ‘And this is Holby City signing off.’
