DEAR DEIDRE: I’M worried the cost of living is now so high that my parents will spend my inheritance on fuel bills.
They both really feel the cold, and Mum, 78, is disabled, so Dad, 82, has the heating on all the time.
I’m a 48-year-old man and still live at home with them, as I never married and have a low-paid job.
Our house is large and draughty, which means the bills are very high.
They can no longer afford to pay using their pensions, so are dipping into their savings.
I’m scared there will be nothing left for me to live on when they die and I’ll go hungry, or even end up like the homeless guy who sits outside the supermarket.
I lie awake at night worrying about this.

DEIDRE SAYS: Things are tough for many people right now.
It’s difficult not to feel anxious but there are people who can help you.
The charity Turn2us (turn2us.org.uk, 0808 802 2000) helps those in financial need access money available to them, through benefits, charitable grants or tax credits.
There are also lots of things you can do to save energy.
Make sure you turn off radiators in rooms you’re not in and turn down the thermostat.
