Inside Big Brother star Craig Phillips and wife Laura’s stunning home which features gym and games room

Big Brother winner Craig Phillips has given OK! a tour of his stunning home as he prepares to welcome his second child into the world with wife Laura.

Craig, who won the first ever series of Big Brother back in 2000, has also had a successful career in building, having previously presented Renovation Street and being a DIY expert for the BBC.

So it’s no mistake that the 48 year old’s home reflects his passion for building, with a stunning property that he designed and built himself which features a games room, bar, gym and gorgeous modern kitchen.

Revealing their favourite parts of the jaw-dropping property, Craig gave us a tour alongside his adorable baby daughter Nelly and wife Laura, sharing exclusive glimpses in our video around the family home.

The kitchen

Craig and Laura’s gorgeous kitchen features a stunning centre island surrounded by modern appliances with a unique family touch. To the side of the pastel blue dining room table is a vertical framed photo with four snaps of little Nelly hanging on the wall. You can also look out into the vast garden from the kitchen and breakfast bar.

“The first favourite room has got to be our kitchen,” Craig said of his favourite spots in the house. “It’s in the centre of our house and when everybody arrives, all our friends and our family, we all cluster around the huge big island in the centre.”

“It’s really sociable and we’ve got a breakfast bar at the end of it and when our guests are there having a little drink and Laura and I are cooking it just works a treat.”

The games room

Another favourite room in the house is Craig and Laura’s games room, which is the perfect space to keep guests entertained with a pool table and bar.

“We’ve built a bar in there which I constructed out of old pallets which actually delivered the bricks and blocks that we built this place from. I broke them all up and created this lovely curved bar so again it’s a very sociable part of the room with the games room,” Craig explains.

“The best thing about the games room is not the bar, it’s the full size pool table because I just love playing pool," he adds.

The gym

Craig and Laura’s gym is another incredible part of their home, with sports memorabilia adorning the walls, including a signed pair of shorts by heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

“Although I don’t spend enough time in there, for Laura and I it’s a little bit like a social time when we’ve finished doing our work or we’ve put Nelly to bed,” Craig said of the gym area.

The bedroom

It’s no surprise that the bedroom is one of the favourite parts of the house, with a gorgeous freestanding bathtub next to the bed, a partition which separates it from the stunning modern bathroom and views from the bed into the luscious garden.

“Bearing in mind when we designed and built this house, Laura wasn’t pregnant. We didn’t know we were having Nelly. However, we constructed it with one big open plan bedroom, a bath actually in the bedroom and behind our huge headboard, because it’s an emperor bed, we’ve got our shower area and en suite and double sinks. It all works great,” Craig says of the gorgeous bedroom.

“Then we have a little corridor within the bedroom that led off into two more rooms and they were going to be dressing rooms, one for me, one for Laura. Then of course Nelly came along 15 months ago I lost my wardrobe naturally and Nelly got a nursery which has had a beautiful makeover, but now we know we’re having a son in December our other dressing room that we’re sharing at the moment is of course going to be our son’s nursery!”

The studio workshop

There’s no denying that Craig loves a bit of DIY, so his studio workshop is the perfect place to keep busy with his all-time favourite hobby. It’s also where the couple film their YouTube series, Mr & Mrs DIY.

“We’ve purposely built this just so Laura and I can do all of our DIY in there,” Craig says. “It’s a multiple use room, we use it for prepping all of the items that we take to TV studios, we shoot all of our online videos in there for Mr and Mrs DIY and we’re also going to be doing classes for couples to come down and learn DIY.”

“For me when I want a little bit of an escape time away from Laura and Nelly, I just walk across the drive and into our studio workshop!,” he adds.
