Jamie Foxx was hospitalised in the midst of filming a new project for Netflix last month – leaving his fans, family and friends worried and devastated.
The actor, 55, was rushed to hospital with a “medical complication” on 11 April in the midst of filming comedy series Back in Action, according to his daughter Corrine.
Corrine Foxx, 29, provided no further details of her dad’s condition.
It was reported on 11 May that Jamie’s family was “preparing for the worst” and that his condition had worsened, but Corrinne hit back at these claims in a candid Instagram post.
Corrine said: “My dad has been out of hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support."
Corinne had previously asked for “privacy during this time.”
On 3 May, Jamie himself posted an update on his Instagram.
“Appreciate all the love! Feeling blessed,” he wrote in a sweet post which attracted more than 800,000 “likes”.
Some of Jamie’s famous friends rushed to send him their support, including actress Halle Berry who simply wrote: “love you, Jamie.”
Meanwhile, motivational speaker Dr Sonja said: “There is not a day that has gone by where I have not checked the internet for an update… let us know what to pray for exactly please… I pray for supernatural healing and recovery.”
Jamie has not yet returned to work and it doesn’t look like he’ll be returning to host Fox’s long running game show Beat Shazam this summer, which the star had previously worked on with his beloved daughter Corinne.
Jamie, who has hosted the show since 2017, has been replaced by Nick Cannon, while Kelly Osbourne has stepped in for Corinne.
Kelly recently sent her love to Corinne and branded it “an honour” to replace her on the show, which sees contestants attempt to recognise songs from all around the world.
Fox shared a post in which they said they “wished Jamie well” as he embarked on a journey of “recovery” and lauded Nick’s willingness to fill in at the last minute.
