Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘are weaning baby Archie onto eating solids’ and he will be fed ‘organic, seasonal produce’, royal reporter claims

  • Royal reporter claimed in weekly podcast he is starting to eat solid foods
  • Little Archie, who lives at Windsor, was born in May and is now six months old

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly weaning baby Archie onto solids, a royal reporter has claimed.

Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, who welcomed Archie in May, are said to be weaning their son, royal commentator Omid Scobie has said.

Speaking on Yahoo UK’s ‘The Royal Story’ weekly podcast, he revealed that he had spoken to the former-royal chef to Prince Charles and Princess Diana, who gave some insight into the typical diet of a royal baby.

According to the cook, youngsters in the royal family are usually given organic, seasonal produce, with everything being made fresh.

Speaking on the radio show, he said: ‘Meghan says that Archie’s currently being weaned at the moment.

Speaking to Carolyn Robb, she described the typical diet of royal babies as: ‘Organic, seasonal and very simple’.

She added: ‘Everything is made fresh. There’s so much pre-made food available but I’m sure they would like doing everything themselves.’

Their nanny reportedly does not live at Windsor Castle’s Frogmore Cottage with the Sussexes, as they couple are keen to give Archie a normal upbringing.

In September a source told The Sun that their recruit has ‘fitted into the family really well’, adding: ‘Meghan is a very hands-on mum but the new nanny is a godsend.

‘She’s great with little Archie and just adores him. Harry and Meghan are very happy with her.’

In September reports surfaced claiming that Harry and Meghan opted against making their nanny wear a uniform during their search for staff.

Omid Scobie previously opened up about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s search for a nanny on Yahoo’s Royal Box, and claimed that Harry was unhappy about the idea of ‘a woman in a uniform’.

Speaking on the weekly show, Omid said: ‘One of the things that Harry said was, ‘I don’t want a woman in a uniform around my child. This isn’t Mary Poppins, we’re going to have a normal household’.’

Prince William and Kate Middleton have a Norland nanny, Nanny Maria, who has been seen in the traditional brown uniform (pictured at Princess Charlotte’s christening in 2015)

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 37, employ a Norland nanny called Maria who is often seen in a traditional uniform looking after Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1.

Both the Sussexes and the Cambridges have just one nanny, with reports claiming that they are keen to give their children a more down to earth upbringing.

Princess Diana famously wanted Prince Harry and William to have as normal an upbringing as possible.

After Princess Diana split from Prince Charles, the boys grew famously close to their nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke.

Prince Harry has remained friendly with Tiggy, who did not wear a uniform while looking after Prince Harry and Prince William.
