Meghan Markle wasn’t at the annual Royal Family gathering at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate this year, instead, she jetted off to Canada with Prince Harry and baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor to celebrate the Christmas holidays in private, leaving many Britons disappointed at their absence. However, the British public might have to wait a lot longer to spot the Duchess out and about again as it was revealed she has nothing planned for next month, is it due to the reported Cambridge rift?

According to the official Royal Family website, Meghan Markle appears not to have any official engagements planned in January, even though the Duke and Duchess said that they will be only taking a six-week break from royal duties, which started back in November.
Last month, Prince Harry made his last public appearance at the OnSide Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The Duchess of Sussex spent Christmas away from the rest of the Royal Family, at a mysterious, undisclosed location that has since been uncovered as Canada.
A palace spokesman told The Sun: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of [November].
“Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland.
“This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”
The Duchess opted for spending Christmas with her mother, Doria Ragland, instead of the Queen and the Cambridges, could this be due to a growing rift reportedly between them?
Meghan’s last public appearance was on Remembrance Sunday where she joined the rest of the Royal Family for the annual service.

However, the Duchess of Sussex doesn’t appear to have any future engagements planned up until March 2020.
In fact, a royal blogger and enthusiast, Kate Disick, speculated that royal fans might have to wait a bit longer than January to see the young royal family again.
She said: “Last year during December we saw quite a lot of the Duchess of Sussex and many will be disappointed to find out it’s likely we’ll have to wait for quite some time still until we get to see the couple and baby Archie next.
“Their decision to stay away from Sandringham this year and spend Christmas with Meghan’s mum in the USA couldn’t have been a light decision, after all, it’s Archie’s first Christmas and you’d expect there to be traditions and protocols that they should be following, but then again, [Harry and Meghan] have never been sticklers for the rules,” she explained.
“The growing tension between Kate Middleton and Meghan is probably also not easy for the Royal Family, so taking a break is probably the best way to get their batteries recharged and ready for next year,” she added.
Previously, it was reported that there was a growing rift between the Cambridges and the Sussexes.
Last year the rumours of a rift began when it was reported that Meghan Markle had snubbed Kate Middleton’s invitation to stay at Anmer Hall over Christmas.

In previous years the “Fab Four” spent Christmas together at Anmer Hall, however, last year they decided to spend Christmas at separate estates and only joined for the official public engagements.
This year, on the other hand, the Sussexes decided to separate themselves even further by flying off and spending baby Archie’s first Christmas away from the royals.
Sources have claimed in the past that Meghan and Kate are “very different people” and simply “don’t get on”.
Every year, since joining the Royal Family, Kate Middleton has spent it by the Queen’s side, even though according to numerous reports they wished to split the holidays between Kate’s parents and William’s family.
However, they have never strayed from this tradition believed to be to due to the Queen and Prince Philip’s advancing years.
A source previously said: “With the Queen and Prince Philip’s advancing ages, skipping years isn’t an option anymore.”
After a recent health scare from Prince Philip, where he spent four nights in hospital just before Christmas, Meghan and Harry will most likely be reconsidering future holiday plans.
A body language expert has revealed the moment that showed the “first signs” of a possible rift growing between Kate and Meghan.
Judi explained: “For me, the very first signs of potential future rifts between these two women came when they appeared on stage together with their husbands with the objective of re-branding them as some kind of ‘Fab Four’ that would be working together on charitable causes.
“Meghan was still using some postural mirroring of Kate as an understandable integration technique into the royal firm but all the poses that seem to show the two women laughing together [were] slightly misleading.
“They admitted immediately that there had been friction and William rose to his feet to emphasise the fact that it was Kate’s project in the way that a spouse often will when protecting their ‘territory’ from a usurper.
“Kate was doing what she had done for years: use eye-glances to share jokes with Harry. His gaze stopped short here though, with a very tactile Meghan now getting all the comedy shared with her.”
Since then, of course, the Sussexes have also separated charity causes from the Cambridges fuelling rumours and reports more of their royal rift.
