Mum’s amazing transformation after she was too fat to go on rollercoaster

A mum who was told she was "too big" to go on rollercoasters with her children at a theme park has shed more than four stone .

Ashleigh Bell, 31, tipped the scales at almost 18 stone after gorging on greasy takeaways and junk food.

But Nottingham Post says the mother-to-three tackled the bulge after staff at Alton Towers said she was too large for rides.

Ashleigh said: "There were a few times when I'd get on a ride with the kids and the safety thing on my seat wouldn't close properly because they told me I was too big.

"Me and the children would then have to do a walk of shame away from the ride which must have been so embarrassing for them and it definitely was for me."

The mum, of Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, used the 1:1 diet by the Cambridge Weight Plan company for four months and her weight rapidly dropped to around 13 stone.

Under the programme, Ashleigh has been eating two products a day provided by the company as well as being allowed a daily allowance of 600 calories on top of them.

She continued: "I have always been quite big but for years I had just been yo-yoing between being thin and fat because I'd come off diets and then struggle to maintain my new weight.

"I did actually lose about four stone when I did a diet programme with Weight Watchers a few years ago but it wasn't long before I put it all back on again because I just hadn't been taught how to maintain the healthy weight once you've achieved it.

"This is where this diet is completely different because there's a big focus on that and ultimately, maintaining the weight is crucial.

"Over Christmas obviously I've not stuck to the programme rigidly but because of what they've taught me I've been able to consider everything and weigh up what I can't eat if I choose to eat other certain things during the day.

"One of my main problems was that I didn't used to eat much in the day but then I'd end up having a massive meal at night.

"I run the breakfast club at school early in the morning and then I work in the school kitchens so I get home and it gets to around five or six and I would suddenly realise I hadn't eaten anything yet that day."

The family hold season passes at Merlin Entertainments, which runs Alton Towers and several other popular attractions across the UK.

Ashleigh's visit happened earlier this year with partner Andrew Archer, 32, and three children Ruby, 11, Freya, 10, and Charlie, seven.

"Losing the weight has also brought back my love of shopping because I don't have to go in stores wondering if they've got my dress size anymore – which used to be around 24.

"I also feel as though I've got more energy and more confidence but ultimately, when I go back on a roller coaster with the kids and we don't have to do the walk of shame, that will be the ultimate achievement for both me and them," the super slimmer said.
