Sitting down to plan the week's meals before you head out on the food shop can sometimes feel like groundhog day.
If you always struggle to find dinner ideas that keep the whole family happy, one mum has come up with a genius solution to get rid of the weekly chore once and for all.
Lou Kirsty Yeoman devised a system using just a board labelled with the days of the week and a pile of lollipop sticks.
On the sticks she wrote a selection of her family's favourite meals, with options including crispy chilli beef, fajitas, pasta bake, spaghetti bolognese, rogan josh and campfire stew.
Each week she picks out seven sticks at random, clipping them on the board next to the corresponding day.
The meals that come out are never changed, leaving the mum to head out and buy all the ingredients with no arguments, as reported by the Metro .
After becoming fed up with the weekly job, Lou spotted the idea on a Slimming World group and now uses it to create a plan for all of the family dinners.
The mum-of-two painted a board black and created vinyl stickers in gold lettering for each day of the week before sticking clips to hold the lollipop sticks beside each.
Posting on the ' Organise My UK Home Ltd ' Facebook group, Lou wrote: "This has made life so much easier.
"No thinking what to make every day. Pick a stick and that’s what we are having."
Other members loved the 'great idea', with one writing: "I’m planning to do something like this for jobs around the house for the kids.
"Never thought of doing one for meals too."
It's definitely an idea we'll be stealing.
