Austin Majors, who played Theo Sipowicz on “NYPD Blue,” has died. He was just 27.
Per TMZ, the former child star was found dead at a homeless housing facility in Los Angeles Saturday night.
While no official cause of death has been revealed, sources told the outlet they suspect Majors died from a fentanyl overdose.
The late actor’s family also confirmed the news to the outlet on Monday and released a statement about what “a loving, artistic, brilliant, and kind human being” Majors was.
Majors first rose to fame for his role on the true crime show from 1999 to 2004, which scored him the 2002 Young Artists Award for Best Performance in a Television Series.
He was later nominated for Best Performance in a Voice-Over Role for his role in “Treasure Planet.”
The late actor also worked on some other notable shows and movies, including, “ER,” “An Accidental Christmas” and “Volare.”
His final credited performance was in “Girls’ Night In” in 2021.
