Things have changed tremendously in the Cambridge household since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic began. Almost immediately, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge relocated their family from their London home at Kensington Palace to their country home in Norfolk, Amner Hall.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte who attend Thomas’ Battersea school in London have been attending virtual learning sessions while Prince Louis has been kept busy with the family’s nanny, Maria Borrallo.
As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have become the faces of the British royal family amid quarantine, they’ve had to learn to balance their work lives and home lives in the same environment. Apparently it hasn’t been smooth sailing all the time when it comes to homeschooling their kiddos.

The Cambridges have all been at home as a family since March 10 when Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s school closed.
“From this date [March 10] the curriculum will be taught through online learning platforms and we have asked parents to keep their children at home and to access their lessons through this system,” a spokesperson for the school told Hello! Magazine. “This will ensure that children have continuity of learning when they are unable to attend school.”
However, despite the advanced systems and curriculum at Thomas’ Battersea, the Cambridges had some major struggles in the beginning. “They would be doing the kinds of things that families everywhere are trying to do — cooking with the kids, reading, puzzles,” royal expert Michelle Tauber told People via Express. “Everyone is doing their best on that front and I’m not exactly sure they would be faring any better than the rest of us. It’s a lot to juggle. We know there are parents everywhere trying to do the act of keeping up with their work commitments as well as making sure the kids’ schooling continues. They likely have their trusted nanny on hand, Maria Borallo, and she would obviously be lending plenty of support.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton are paying a fortune to homeschool their children
Though Princess Charlotte gets a slightly discounted tuition since she has a sibling at Thomas’ Battersea, the Cambridges are still paying for their kids’ education even though they’re at home.
The school costs $23,000 for each child, and on top of that, the duke and duchess have continued to pay Borrallo’s nanny salary which is estimated to be $58,552 according to Insider. That’s at minimum, $104,552.

Prince George gets jealous of Princess Charlotte’s homeschool assignments
At nearly seven years old, Prince George’s homeschool assignments are very different from Princess Charlotte’s who just turned five. In fact, Kate has explained it’s become a point of contention in their household.
“George gets very upset because he just wants to do all of Charlotte’s projects,” she told ITV’s This Morning. “Making spider sandwiches is far cooler than doing literacy work.”
Thankfully, school will be out for summer soon, and the Cambridge siblings can enjoy some much deserved carefree time exploring and creating in Norfolk.
