American film and television production company Apatow Productions was founded by actor and producer Judd Apatow in 1999. The first ever TV production made by the company was Freaks and Geeks and their film debut was the comedy film starring Will Ferrell titled Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. The success of their first TV and film venture has resulted in a lot more production projects which made the company millions. The comedy movie released last July 9, 2004 only had about $25 million budget. The movie is about anchorman named Ron Burgundy played by Will Ferrell who welcomes the upstart reporter Veronica Corningstone played by Christina Applegate into the world of 1970s broadcast news where it is currently male dominated. Soon after welcoming Veronica, he began getting jealous of her which eventually led to a bitter feud between them.

This is 40 takes the ninth spot with a total of $67,544,505 domestic gross and $90,221,182 worldwide box office. The comedy movie released last December 21, 2012 only had about $35 million budget. The movie is about Pete played by Paul Rudd who is the breadwinner in their household that includes his wife Debbie played by Leslie Mann and their two daughters played by Iris Apatow and Maude Apatow. After many years of their marriage, the couple has had their fair share of struggles of married couples.
8 Get Him to the Greek
Get Him to the Greek takes the eighth spot with a total of $61,153,526domestic gross and $92,994,927 worldwide box office. The comedy movie released last June 4, 2010 only had about $40 million budget. The movie is about an ambitious executive at a record company Aaron Green which is played by Jonah Hill who gets what looks like an easy assignment: he will have to escort the British rock legend Aldous Snow played by Russell Brand to the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The theatre is the first stop on the lucrative comeback concert of Aldous however, the artists apparently has a different plan.
7 Pineapple Express
Pineapple Express takes the seventh spot with a total of $87,341,380 domestic gross and $102,404,019 worldwide box office. The comedy movie released last August 6, 2008 only had about $26 million budget. The movie is about stoner Dale played by Seth Rogen who enjoyed a rare strain of marijuana which may have proven to be fatal when he dropped his roach in a panic after he witnessed a murder. When they realized that the rare weed will be traced back into them, Dale with his dealer played by James Franco decided to go on a lam.
6 Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Forgetting Sarah Marshall takes the sixth spot with a total of $63,172,463 domestic gross and $105,475,310 worldwide box office. The comedy movie released last April 18, 2008 only had about $30 million budget. The movie is about the struggling musician Peter played by Jason Segel who is better known as the partner of the TV star Sarah Marshall played by Kristen Bell. Right after she unceremoniously dumped him, he felt lost and alone so he decided to go on a trip to Hawaii where he found out that the hotel he booked was where Sarah and her new boyfriend played by Russell Brand is also staying.

The movie is about Brennan Huff played by Will Ferrell and his step brother Dale Doback played by John C. Reilly. Both of them have are lazy and currently unemployed who leeches off from their parents. When their parents got married and moved in together, the world of the two turned upside down.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby takes the fourth spot with a total of $148,213,377 domestic gross and $162,870,525 worldwide box office. The comedy movie released last August 4, 2006 only had about $73 million budget. The movie is about the NASCAR superstar Ricky Bobby who is played by Will Ferrell. He is currently at the top of his game, he was adored by fans and has a trophy wife by his side. However, he lost it all when the French Formula One champion Jean Girard played by Saca Baron Cohen entered the scene. Bobby must then pull himself together to get back his title.

The movie is about two inseparable best friends played by Jonah Hill and Michael Cera who navigates the last weeks of their high school life. They were invited to a huge house party where they met with their nerdy friends. They spent the day trying to score some alcohol supply for the party and inebriate two girls to finally kick start their sex life.

The 40 Year-old Virgin takes the second spot with a total of $109,449,237 domestic gross and $176,276,839 worldwide box office. The comedy movie released last August 19, 2005 only had about $26 million budget. The movie is about 40 year old Andy Stitzer played by Steve Carell who is an amiable single guy that currently works for a big-box store. He is living alone who spends his free time just playing video games and curating some action figures he collected. Despite his age, he has never had sexual intercourse so his friend David played by Paul Rudd decided to push him to lose his virginity.

Knocked Up takes the ninth spot with a total of $148,761,765 domestic gross and $219,265,952 worldwide box office. The comedy movie released last June 1, 2007 only had about $27.5 million budget. The movie is about the rising journalist Alison Scott played by Katherine Heigl who has hit a serious bump down the road when she had a one night stand with an irresponsible slacker Ben Stone played by Seth Rogen. Their one night stand resulted in a pregnancy where they decided to keep the baby and raise it together.
