Back in 2017, the ‘In the Name of Love’ hitmaker sparked feud rumors with the ‘Diamonds’ songstress after she said that the latter ‘can’t sing’ high notes like she does.
AceShowbiz –Bebe Rexha couldn’t help but laugh. The “In the Name of Love” hitmaker who previously sparked feud rumors with Rihanna over her high notes comments has reacted to a viral meme about her crashing the “Diamond” songstress’ Super Bowl Halftime show.
Hopping on Twitter on Friday, September 29, the 33-year-old Brooklyn-born musician shared a hilarious response to a video uploaded by a fan of RiRi, who is set to perform at the spectacle on February 12, 2023 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The clip saw a girl making a fuss with some officers during what appeared to be a concert.
“Get off of me! Get off of me!” the girl shouted. The fan captioned the footage, “bebe rexha trying to get on the halftime stage when rihanna starts singing monster.” In response, Bebe quote-retweeted the post and said, “I’m deaddddddddd.”
Many social media users immediately recalled the moment where Bebe unveiled that she was the one who did “oooh ohhh” parts in “Monster”, a song she wrote for RiRi and Eminem. At the time, Bebe claimed that she did that because the “Umbrella” “can’t sing those high notes.”
“Your voice is on the chorus we get it,” one person reacted to Bebe’s tweet. Someone else added, “when you get on stage and start singing OH OH OHHH OH OHHH,” while a third said, “Let her at least sing her part. Would love to see you both on stage.”
Bebe made the comments in 2017. When making an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in 2018, the “Meant to Be” songstress explained her comments and defended her choice of words.
“Yeah because I did sing that part and somebody spun it out to being, ‘She said Rihanna can’t sing those high notes’,” she told host Andy. “I’m like, ‘That’s so annoying’ You can’t say anything on the internet these days. Everybody takes everything to the extreme and blows it out of proportion. I say that people have nothing to do with their lives and they’re bored and just want to start drama. They’re called internet trolls and I don’t have time for that.”
