Caroline Flacks ex Andrew Brady facing prison after harassing GB News host

Andrew Brady, the former fiancé of late Love Island host Caroline Flack, has admitted to harassing GB News anchor Dan Wootton.

Brady, 31, now faces up to six months in prison after sending abusive messages to GB News presenter Dan last year, Sheffield Crown Court heard on Tuesday (February 1).

In court, it was said that Brady accused Wooton of being a murderer and sex offender, and once compared him to sex criminal Harvey Weinstein in a series of messages.

At one point, he asked Mr Wootoon to engage in sexual activity with him, and sent an explicit photo to the broadcaster.

He had been scheduled to stand trial in June over more serious allegations of putting Mr Wooton in fear of violence – but prosecutors accepted his guilty pleas to a lesser chaarge of harassment in a short hearing on Tuesday.

Brady appeared on BBC's The Apprentice in 2017, and was engaged to Flack in 2018 for a short time.

Prosecutor Laura Marshall previously told the court that Brady started harassing Mr Wooton around a year after Caroline's passing, which was on 15 February 2020.

It was heard in court that Andrew used social media to send his threats and abuse to Wooton, who is the ex-executive editor of The Sun newspaper.

It was also said he accused the journalist of being a murderer and sex offender, and claimed he had evidence.

Brady was also accused of saying in one Instagram post he 'felt getting rid of Mr Wooton once and for all', and inviting his social media followers to assist him in his 'crusade'.

Caroline Flack's ex confessed to saying that "matters should be settled by violence", and sending voice notes threating violence when police were not present.

The court also heard Brady "stated his intention to end Mr Wootton's career".

He was held on remand before his sentencing on Friday.

Judge Jeremy Richardson QC, The Recorder of Sheffield, told him: "I am pleased that this case has at last been resolved. You will be sentenced on Friday.

"The desire for everybody in this case – including myself – is for you to stop doing what you did.

"You must move on with your life, it is to be hoped to sunnier uplands.

"I will hear the opening on Friday and I will hear your defence then you will be sentenced.

"You will remain in custody and you will appear before me in person on Friday."
