Elton John has been out and proud for many years, despite a great deal of speculation on the subject in his early career. He has had relationships with men and women in the public eye, but it was David Furnish with whom he settled down. Sir Elton adopted two children – so who is the boys’ father David Furnish?
Along with Elton John, Furnish is the father of Elijah and Zachary, his two children.
Furnish and Sir Elton have two children, both of whom were born through a surrogate.
Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born on Christmas Day in 2010, and their second child, Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John, was born on January 11, 2013.
The Telegraph reported both children have the same surrogate mother, though Sir Elton’s representative Fran Curtis would not reveal any details of this.
On the boys’ birth certificates, both Sir Elton and David are listed as the children’s parents.
Recently Sir Elton shared an adorable image to pay tribute to his children and husband.
Jumping on the bandwagon of sharing who you are in self-isolation for, Sir Elton shared an image of him sitting in his home with a sign, saying he was in isolation from the coronavirus for his children and husband.
Sir Elton has been with David since 1993, and in 2005 they were among the first couples to have a civil partnership in the UK, doing the ceremony on the day the Civil Partnership Act came into force.

- Elton John relationships: Who is David Furnish? Singer’s love life
When gay marriage became legal in the UK in 2014, the pair married in Windsor on the ninth anniversary of their civil partnership.
Before this time, Sir Elton’s love life was not so lucky, and he had various relationships which did not turn out too well.
He was engaged to be married to secretary Linda Woodrow in the 1960s before he started a relationship with John Reid, a label manager.
Sir Elton’s relationship with John Reid was shown in Rocketman, the new movie about Elton’s life, in which Reid was shown in a manipulative and unkind light.
Their relationship ended five years later in 1970, and in subsequent interviews, Reid has spoken fondly of his time with Sir Elton, as he remained his manager until 1998.
After this relationship, Sir Elton came out as bisexual in an interview with Rolling Stone, before marrying sound engineer Renate Blauel in 1984.
They divorced in 1988, and a few years later, Sir Elton came out as gay in an interview with the same magazine.
Luckily, it was not long before he found love again with Furnish, with whom he has been in a relationship for almost 30 years.
