The world was shocked to its core when Hollywood icons Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, who celebrates his 44th birthday today (February 7), announced their separation in November 2011.
Two years later, they officially filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court, with Ashton, 44, citing "irreconcilable differences".
Moore, 59, petitioned for spousal support and for her now ex-husband to foot her legal bills.
Their divorce was officially granted on November 26, 2013, and Daily Star is here to bring you the lowdown on their turbulent relationship.
Demi was 40 when she met a then 25-year-old Ahston in 2003 while they were both attending the same dinner party held by a mutual friend.
Ashton was presenting the legendary Saturday Night Live, while Demi was on a crazy press tour for Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, marking her return to acting.
The pair hit it off like a house on fire, with Ashton going home with Demi before talking all night, eventually falling asleep.
Speaking in her memoir, Inside Out, Demi said: "He was 25, I was 40, but I'm telling you: we couldn't feel it We were totally in sync from our very first conversation."
The lovers eventually married on September 24, 2005, at their Beverly Hills home – with over 100 guests witnessing their nuptials, including Demi's ex-husband, Bruce Willis.
Despite their relationship appearing glossy on the outside, the lovers were hit with scandals, from threesome romps to infidelity and Demi breaking her sobriety.
She claims that after 20 years of being sober, she started drinking alcohol again as she wanted to enjoy having wine with loved ones.
"Ashton was enjoying a glass of good red wine when he said, 'I don’t know if alcoholism is a real thing — I think it's all about moderation.'
"I wanted to be that girl, the girl who could have a glass of wine at dinner or do a tequila shot at a party. In my mind, Ashton wanted that, too," she revealed.
Demi later likened her love for Ashton as an "addiction" saying it was "more devastating than alcohol because it took me seriously away, emotionally."
During their marriage, Kutcher who found fame on Punk'd hoped to spice up their sex life by introducing a third person to their bedroom.
Mum-of-three Demi vowed to put their love for one another first, saying: "I didn't say no, I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be," as she opened up about their sexual antics.
However, she went on to acknowledge that their kinky rendezvous should've remained between themselves, saying it was a "mistake".
Demi was left shaken to the core when rumours began to surface that Ashton had allegedly committed adultery during a lads trip to San Diago.
Ashton has denied the claims, taking to Twitter shortly after the release of Demi's memoir, he penned: "For truth, text me +1 (319) 519-0576."
He later added: "I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet.
The actress discovered his infidelity via a Google Alert, before saying that Ashton had justified his actions because they had introduced two extra people into their relationship.
However, after cheating again, she recalls that he "admitted it right away".
Speaking on Good Morning America, she said: "I asked if it were true and he admitted it right away and I think my response was, 'Are you f**king kidding me…?' I think I felt like I could barely take a breath.'"
"Then I saw my son, daughter, and wife and I deleted it."

Eastwood went on to say that the cheating was "the catalyst that broke him [Kutcher] and Demi up."
