Kerry Katona has defended Piers Morgan against a tide of online fury after he questioned Sam Smith's request to be referred to with they/them pronouns.
The pop superstar says they are gender fluid and no longer sees themselves as male.
Writing in the latest issue of Attitude Magazine, they explained how they had battled with their gender throughout their life.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain to reports there are now 100 types of gender, Piers flipped out – arguing for the right to identify as a penguin.

Writing in her new! magazine column, Kerry, 39, said: "Last week there was a #FirePiers campaign on Good Morning Britain based on his comments about gender.
"Come on now, you can't fire Piers – I love him!
"I get what he's saying.
"Look at Sam Smith, whose come out as non-binary.
"Piers blames Sam for the Brits axing its male/female categories.
"Listen, I love Sam but biologically the singer's a male.
"There's still a penis there. It's science."

She signed off the column: "I'm all for sticking up for the LGBTQ community, but I’m quite a traditionalist at heart.
"I do think Piers just says what a lot of people are already thinking."
Recently speaking about his non binary status, Sam said: "I've always had a little bit of a war going within my body and my mind.
"I do think like a woman sometimes, in my head.
"Sometimes I've questioned 'Do I want a sex change?'
"It's something I still think about, like, 'Do I want to?'"
