Inspired by the 2009 song off ‘Man on the Moon: The End of Day’, Cudi’s eighth studio album will arrive on September 30 alongside a Netflix animated series of the same name.
AceShowbiz –Kid Cudi has revealed the official tracklist of his upcoming album, “Entergalactic”. The “Pursuit of Happiness” rapper, born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, unveiled the titles of his upcoming songs through a post shared on Twitter on Monday, September 26.
The tracks include “Entergalactic Theme”, “New Mode”, “Do What I Want” and “Angel”. There are also collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign (“Can’t Shake Her”) and (“Willing to Trust”), 2 Chainz (“Can’t Believe It) as well as Don Toliver (“Somewhere to Fly”). The bonus track “Burrow”, meanwhile, features Toliver, Steve Aoki and Dot Da Genius.
The “visual album,” which is inspired by the 2009 song off “Man on the Moon: The End of Day”, will arrive on September 30 alongside a Netflix animated series of the same name. It will serve as his eighth studio effort.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Cudi admitted that he “was tired of making albums” before recording the new project. “I was bored of having an album, dropping two music videos, and then that’s it. I was tired of the same old thing. And I was like if I’m going to do another album, it has to be exciting,” he shared.
“It has to be something different that nobody’s ever done before. And that’s when I came up with the idea to try to do this musical told through animation,” the 38-year-old rhymer continued. “And it just made so much sense from that point on.”
Cudi went on to elaborate, “And at first ‘Entergalactic’ was supposed to be an anthology series. It was supposed to be one episode that was animated. So what I did was I just took the one animated episode and stretched it out into a full story.” He then noted, “I don’t know, maybe my anthology idea will come to life one day. It’s still a really good idea.”
