AceShowbiz –Rihanna has a long list of A-listers as potential collaborators for her Super Bowl Halftime Show. The Barbadian songstress is said to be mulling over a list of 50 possible guest artists to hit the stage with her during the coveted gig.
According to TMZ, which claims to have received juicy tidbits from sources with direct knowledge of the production, the “Only Girl (In the World)” singer is considering everyone she’s has collaborated with over the years to possibly appear with her. The long list reportedly includes the likes of Kanye West, Drake, Jay-Z, Paul McCartney, Calvin Harris as well as Pharrell Williams among other names.
As of now, Rih has not made final decisions on who will join her onstage, though it’s stressed that she will have the final say on the matter. There’s also a chance that she may go solo without a guest, though it’s likely that she will have at least one guest artist to join her like other performances in the previous years.
Meanwhile, Rihanna has returned to the studio after news of her Super Bowl headlining gig was announced. She was spotted hitting a studio in New York City with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky on Monday night, September 26, possibly to record new music or prepare for the big game.
Rihanna confirmed that she has been tapped for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, which will take place on February 12, 2023, via her social media pages on Sunday, September 25. The 34-year-old surprised her fans as she re-shared a post by Roc Nation that featured her hand holding an NFL ball with the caption which simply read, “Let’s GO.”
Following the news, Dr. Dre, who headlined this year’s show alongside Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent, shared some advice to Rih. “Put the right people around you and have fun,” he said in an interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1 for the “Umbrella” hitmaker to hear. “That’s basically what it is – making sure you have the right creative people around you.”
The hip-hop mogul also couldn’t hide his excitement about seeing Rihanna’s Halftime takeover as he gushed, “Oh, my God. Let me tell you something, man. I actually just got the news that Rihanna’s going to do [the Halftime Show] and I’m a super fan of Rihanna. I can’t wait to see what she’s going to do.”
The 57-year-old went on sharing, “I just like her and what she does and her get down and how she approaches her artistry and the whole nine. It’s fantastic.” He also believes that Rihanna “has the opportunity to really blow us away,” before acknowledging, “I know we set the bar extremely high.”
