To raise funds for the Count Basie Center and New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, the rockers are set to perform at Monmouth Park Racetrack on July 11 amid the COVID-19 crisis.
AceShowbiz -Rockers Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes will make history next month (July) when they perform New Jersey’s first non-virtual drive-in show during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The group will perform at Monmouth Park Racetrack on 11 July to raise funds for the Count Basie Center and New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund.
“The Asbury Jukes and I are so excited that we can play this first of its kind live concert and help get New Jersey started on a quick and healthy return to normal…,” Southside Johnny said in a statement. “We’ll safely see everyone July 11th.”
Drive-in concerts have become part of the new normal for live music in recent weeks with Keith Urban and DJ D-Nice among the stars who have performed for fans at open-air movie venues.
Meanwhile, country star Alan Jackson has joined the drive-in concert revolution after announcing plans to play two socially-distanced shows in Alabama this week (June 05 & 06) in Cullman and Fairhope, and the Eli Young Band will make history later this month when they become the first act to perform a drive-in concert at Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
