Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) is hoping to follow in his father Dev (Jimmi Harkishin)’s footsteps in Coronation Street as he sets out to prove that he has what it takes to succeed in the business world. His ambitions soon become derailed, however, when he’s unable to resist seductive Courtney Vance (Stephanie Davis).
Again, very much like Dev whose common sense has often gone out of the window when there’s an attractive woman around and who was once revealed to have fathered children with almost every female shop assistant of reproductive age in Weatherfield. .
‘He is definitely his father’s son,’ Adam Hussain told us. ‘I think there is a side to him that can be much like Dev, I’m looking forward to exploring that and I can’t wait to see what Aadi gets up to next.’

One person who’s about to see what Aadi gets up to next and really wishes she hadn’t is Amy Barlow(Elle Mulvaney), who walks in on Aadi and Courtney in a compromising position. Panicked, Aadi realises that the secret could soon be out and it could cost Dev his business deal with Courtney’s husband Darren (Ryan Early).
‘Aadi is quite worried at first, he’s desperate to get into Darren’s good books and make the investment for Dev happen,’ Adam explained. ‘Dev reveals that he’s in quite a lot of debt as a result of securing the funds, so Aadi has a lot to handle, so all of that to be ruined just for his own sexual gratification would be devastating for him, especially if Darren finds out.’
Even worse for Aadi, Dev gets wind that Courtney is having an affair and asks his son to keep his ear to the ground and find out what he can. Meanwhile Amy confronts Courtney and warns her to stop using Aadi, and an oblivious Darren tells Aadi that he’s grateful to him for looking after Courtney so well. What a tangled web.
It becomes increasingly obvious that Aadi is totally smitten when, in a business meeting, Darren reveals that he and Courtney are off on a Caribbean cruise and Aadi is hardly able to mask how he’s feeling.
‘Aadi becomes defensive and possessive and tells her not to go,’ Adam sighed. ‘Aadi does become infatuated by her and realises that he’s wrapped around her finger!’
