EastEnders legend Adam Woodyatt has seemingly given fans of the BBC soap one of the biggest hints yet as to the outcome of its current mystery with a cryptic Instagram story.
The actor, who is reportedly returning as Ian Beale, posted a screenshot of his daily Wordle game, pointing out that his starting word was very ‘appropriate’ for today, sending EastEnders fans into an absolute frenzy.
Viewers will know that episodes set to air tonight and tomorrow (June 21 and 22) have been deliberately held back from BBC iPlayer until the show has aired on BBC One, despite episodes normally dropping at 6am each morning.
This is because the show is set to reveal an epic secret, involving the newest family, The Knights.
Ever since their arrival, there have been constant mentions of an elusive ‘Rose Knight’, who mysteriously disappeared without a trace nine years ago.
This is something that Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has been desperate to get to the bottom of, certain that there was foul play involved, with the landlady very suspicious of George Knight (Colin Salmon).

Adam’s starting word of ‘arose’ is possibly a reference to the mysterious Rose, who’s backstory and history is seemingly set to be explored in this week’s top secret episodes.
With Cindy Beale, Ian’s ex-wife, set to return from the dead, fans have been left wondering Adam’s post could be a nod to one of the wild fan theories that has been circulating about Rose’s identity.
