Adele's 4th album delayed and won't be out in September, her manager confirms

SONGSTRESS Adele's highly-anticipated fourth studio album won't be released in September as previously planned her manager confirmed.

The as-yet untitled album will be her first in five years, following up 2015’s 25 which featured hits Hello and When We Were Young.

Initially, Adele sent fans into a tizzy in February when she announced at a pal’s wedding that her latest record would be out this September.

However, the release date has been thrown into doubt by the pandemic, which has caused some artists to delay releasing their own albums.

Adele's manager Jonathan Dickins, who is the founder of September Management, told Music Week that she won't be releasing new music this autumn and wouldn't confirm when fans should expect it either.

He told the publication: "It isn’t coming in September, it’ll be ready when it’s ready.

"We're all in the same boat, you’re doing stuff and then all of a sudden, the world stops.

"It’ll come when it’s ready. I can’t put a date on that yet. We have music, but we’re still working."

Adele has been working on the new release with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote her songs Remedy and Rumour Has It.

Despite saying he was going to "stay completely mum on new Adele", he told The Sun: "I’ll just say that she sounds better than ever."

Last month, The Sun's Bizarre column revealed that her upcoming release wouldn't be a break-up album.

It will be her first release since she announced her split from husband Simon Konecki, 45, last April after seven years together.

They revealed she won’t be bad-mouthing ex-husband in part to protect their son Angelo when the record lands this year.

A US music insider said: "Adele does not want Simon to suffer or be humiliated on this album.

"She enjoyed a great relationship with him and they are both immensely proud of their son.

Adding: "For her to vent or express anything that could be deemed as negative would cause an unnecessary rift and they have tried to stay amicable in the split.

"She does not want Angelo learning about any of their issues through her songs, especially as he is getting older and kids are more aware of what she does for a living.

"The other albums were at a different time in her life. Now she has to consider the importance of her future stability," they continued.

"From what we have heard, the music will still have a wide range of emotions and subjects, reflecting on her journey and experiences as a mother."
