Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) has been struggling for money ever since an injury to his hand left him unable to work at the builders yard in Coronation Street.
Following an accident that saw him knocked down by Carla Barlow (Alison King) in the Underworld van, Paul began to notice issues with his grip.
After several trips to the doctor, he hadn’t noticed any change.
Concerned, Dr Gaddas referred him to a neurologist, who informed him that he would need to see a specialist for some further tests.
It was a massive blow to Paul when he discovered that his symptoms weren’t a direct result of his accident, meaning that he wouldn’t be entitled to the compensation he had been anticipating.
This left Paul in a difficult situation, as he had already leant money to sister Gemma (Dolly Rose Campbell) in order to pay for her wedding venue, as well as taking out a loan that he was now unable to pay back.
In recent scenes, Paul was desperately searching for work, asking Roy Cropper (David Neilson) if he had anything available at the cafe.
Friend and flatmate Dee Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) noticed Paul’s disappointment, and offered him work sorting out files at the solicitors office.

Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) was left baffled by Paul’s sudden appearance, but was willing to let it slide when Dee Dee revealed that she would be paying him out of her own pocket.
Things seemed to be going well for Paul, until his symptoms flared up once more, causing him to drop some files.
Frustrated Paul soon grew concerned as he realised that he had lost the ability to grip with his hand
It has recently been announced that Paul will be diagnosed with motor neurone disease in upcoming episodes.
This storyline will follow the progression of the disease as Paul initially deals with the illness alone and eventually has to break the news to his loved ones.
