In Back to the Future Part II, fans saw old Biff from 2015 steal Doc Brown’s DeLorean. The villain travelled back to 1955 and gave his younger self the Grays Sports Almanac so he could become incredibly wealthy by knowing the outcome to every major sporting event for the next 45 years. But how did 2015 Biff know how to use the time machine?
After all, in Back to the Future, Doc had to explain to Marty McFly how the time circuits worked.
And also that the DeLorean had to reach 88mph to travel forwards or backwards through time.
Well, a new fan theory claims that Biff studied the DeLorean time machine over a period of 30 years.
Think back to the end of the first movie and the beginning of the second in 1985.

- Back to the Future part II theory: 2015 Jennifer is CHEATING on Marty
After Doc, Marty and Jennifer take off in the flying DeLorean and disappear into the future, Biff saw it all.
Which is why he recognises the same time machine 30 years later in 2015, admitting he hadn’t seen one in three decades.
Reddit user Biff_Xannen wrote: “In Back to the Future, Biff sees the DeLorean vanishing.
“Then in Back to the Future Part II, elder Biff calls the DeLorean out by name when he sees it again.”
The fan continued: “When he steals the DeLorean, he knows how to set time destination and knows that 88 MPH is required to time travel.
“He is even able to travel back to the future with no hassle.
“Although he suffered side effects from interacting with his younger self.”
With this in mind, Biff could well have realised that to time travel he would need to fly really fast, just as he saw the DeLorean do before vanishing back in 1985.

Back to the Future theory: Why 1955 Doc kept those four pictures [THEORY]
Earlier this year, actor Josh Gad hosted a virtual Back to the Future reunion via his YouTube series Reunited Apart.
Cast members like Doc and Marty stars Christopher Lloyd and Michael J Fox reenacted scenes from the film trilogy for fans in the charity event.
Gad asked Back to the Future co-creators Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale where Doc and Marty would travel to in a hypothetical Back to the Future Part IV; a movie they refuse to make.
Gale joked: “Well it would have to be that Doc and Marty find out that we’re thinking about making another Back to the Future movie and they come back to stop us from doing such a crazy thing.”
But interestingly director Robert Zemeckis added: “If I had an idea which I could have pitched to Bob with a straight face, we would have made it.
“I have no answer to that question.”
Cast members consider Gale to be the gatekeeper of the Back to the Future franchise and so stories beyond Part III already exist in other formats from a video game set in 1986 to recent graphic novels and the nineties animated series.
While both Zemeckis and Gale have more recently been behind the Back to the Future musical, which was running in Manchester earlier this year before the lockdown and plans to move to the West End in late 2020 if theatres are open again.
