Notorious joker James Blunt was all of us as he did not respond well to Charlie Stayt’s joke about plastic surgery on today’s BBC Breakfast.

The You’re Beautiful chart-topper appeared on the show today as he followed up on his ‘threat’ to release new music if Spotify didn’t drop divisive podcaster Joe Rogan from its service.

Today, he released his Greatest Hits featuring his, well, greatest hits, as well as some new Blunt bangers.

What’s more, he even teased his critics there’s even further bad news as his label just signed him up to a new deal.

We’re here for it, to be honest.

However, the interview took a particularly strange turn after presenter Charlie told James he appeared to be getting ‘younger’.

After a compilation of James’ hits played on the show, Charlie said: ‘Looking at that video and looking at you now… what’s going on?’

James joked: ‘I think with plastic surgery it’s little and often is the technique I would advise.’

‘As you know, some people will think that’s a double bluff,’ Charlie laughed, but when we say it sank…

Baffled, James cringed: ‘It’s not… I don’t know where to go from here.’

Closing the awkward moment, Charlie said he’d ‘put a stop to it right there’.

However, it continued. Charlie and his co-host Naga went on to grill the singer over where he sleeps on his tour bus, The Masked Singer, and viewers weren’t into it, to put it lightly:

Very possibly the worst interview I’ve ever heard. Well done James for putting up with their inane questioning with such good grace.

What a dreadful interview by Charlie and Naga, we had to turn it off as it was so appalling, even James Blunt thought so.

What a terrible terrible interview by BBC breakfast #this morning with James Blunt#

That was a really surreal interview with James Blunt on #BBCBreakfast – they didn’t know what to say to him, he didn’t know how to respond. Weird.

Cringe worthy interview with James Blunt, so embarrassing, ridiculous, immature questions about his sleeping arrangements on the tour bus !! What about his music ?!! James was thinking get me out of here!!

Think it was no prep Friday. Had to leave the room, poor James having to listen to their dribble

James Blunt is charming, humble and a top bloke despite the inane questions thrown at him on BBC BREAKFAST 👏

As the interview ended, James told the hosts he was getting an Uber home but even that became a strange back and forth as they reminded him he could get a car.

Even a free ride home didn’t appeal.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One. James Blunt’s Greatest hits is available to stream now.
